The 5 Most Annoying Facebook Posts

1. The Passive Aggressive
“I’ll never be able to forgive you for what you did. I hope you realize that what goes around, comes around…you’ll see soon enough.”
Everyone knows someone who has posted or often posts these types of menacing messages on public forums. Sure, we understand that the girl who stole your boyfriend totally deserves to be chastised, but posting it so that each of your 1207 Facebook friends can see it? Come on. The truth is, no one cares. These status updates not only make you look like a brat, but also diminish the impact of your threats. An in-person message to the guilty party would go a lot farther.

2. The Gym Rat

“Woo! Just finished my eight mile run at the gym, now heading out for two hours of yoga. Who’s up for a six mile hike later today? Hit me up!”
If you’re like most of us, a trip to the gym requires great effort, commitment and motivation. When we decide once again to forego our exercise routine and sit down on our computer instead, we’d rather not be subjected to your Facebook tales of the epic run you took that day, or the exhausting workout you completed before we even rolled out of bed. Yes, your activity level is impressive, but now the rest of us just feel like total fat slobs. Thanks.

3. The Public Lovers
“Happy 26 month anniversary to the sweetest, hottest boyfriend ever. You’re so amazing. I couldn’t live life without you. You make my world turn around. Waking up to you is like waking up next to sugar…you make my morning that much sweeter. I love you soo much, baby, don’t forget that, ever. I will love you forever and always <3″
Ah yes, we all know who these two are. They’re the ones with profile pictures of them kissing in front of a sunset. They’re the ones with “About Me’s” which regale us with tales of the other’s attributes, romantic dinners together and unexpected love notes left in secret places. They are also the culprits who create those disgustingly mooshy, gooshy Facebook status about, you guessed it, each other. Honestly, we are TRULY happy these two people have apparently found themselves living out a Disney fairytale, but is it really necessary to rub it into everyone’s lonely face on a public website? Your love for each other is touching, but can you please just get a room?

4. The TMI-er
“Stephen thinks today was a good day. I woke up around 10 am and had work from 11-5. After that, I grabbed a bite to eat at Jack in the Box. Then I met up with my friends Joe, Alex, and Mitch and we played a game of Scrabble. Needless to say, I won (obviously.) Now it’s about 10 pm, so I gotta get some rest for my early work day tomorrow. Overall, today has been a good day.”
Simply put, these Facebook users mistakenly believe that the world must know what’s going on every minute of every day their lives. These mundane and uninteresting updates are the fastest way to get your friends to start hiding your posts. I seriously don’t get the point of these. Why do you think we want to know all this? Oh right, we don’t.

5. The Spoiler Alert
“OMG SCOTTY WON!”
These people are constantly posting the ending of your favorite television shows when you’ve TiVo-ed it for a later date. That kind of defeats the purpose of recording shows to watch later, doesn’t it? I just love signing on to Facebook in the morning and learning who won “American Idol,” which housewife threw a drink in the face of her neighbor, and the seasonal finale cliff hanger for the show of which I am still on episode three. It’s cool to be into TV shows, but please spare us a ruined season of “American Idol” and keep the results to yourself!

Jonah's Response to 'What's Goin on...'

Yesterday I posted this video to the C100 Facebook page.

Jonah has attracted a lot of attention with this video ... 5.1 million hits worth of attention.

Perez Hilton posted an update yesterday from Jonah ... Here it is ...

UPDATE, PLEASE READ
To all my friends and supporters,
I made this video 4 months ago just before school was about to start. I was 13. It was a very emotionally dark time in my life. I made the video at 4:00am in the morning; I hadn't been sleeping at night for a long time, too many things going on in my head. I was dreading going back to school and I had not come out to my family yet. Only my closest friends knew. I didn't know how to say what I needed to say. All I could think about were all the bad things that had been happening at school last year, every year for that matter. I just couldn't bare to go through that anymore. I was done being fake happy, pretending hateful words didn't hurt, done hiding it from my family.
So this video was made for my friends that had moved on to High School who were worried for me, to say to them that I was going to take a stand, and to the haters at my middle school that I'm not going anywhere. I am who I am. I posted the video here and told people were to find it. That was it.
My friends were moved by the video and thought I did something important. I was encouraged to upload it to my Facebook page so more people could see it. Maybe it could help someone else going through the same thing. So I linked it Dec. 1st. My Parents saw it for the first time Dec, 2nd.
Then..... all this happened.
I never expected in a million years that it would have such a wonderful impact on so many people. I am truly humbled and truly thankful for all the love, encouragement and support from people all over the world. It's been incredibly overwhelming. I don't know what to say. Thank you so, so much!
Lastly, yes you have seen me happy in a couple short videos replies I posted; I would think that would be a good thing , and yes I do have friends, my High School friends, and I have made friends because when I came out they realized that they had hurt me and that they fealt sorry. The video is real, and true.
In the last few months everything eventually came out in the open, I felt a huge weight off my shoulders; I'm happy, I'm excepted for who I am, I'm more confident and feel stronger every day.
Thank you all, Love and peace to all who are hurting.

X Factor / Astro - How Can You not LOVE this Kid?

What NOT to Toast at a Wedding

Five Things You Should NEVER Talk About in a Wedding Toast:

Do yourself a favor ... Don't get drunk and bring up THESE ...
#1.) The Bride or Groom's Past Relationships.
Don't do it, even if you're saying something nice. Comparing your friend's new spouse to some reject from five years ago might get a laugh. But it also might make things uncomfortable.

#2.) Money.
That includes saying something nice like, "Wow, this must have cost a FORTUNE!" The thing is, if it LOOKS like it cost a fortune, it did. And at least one person in the room is probably stressed about it.

#3.) Hard Times in the Bride and Groom's Relationship.
A lot of people want their toast to be funny, which is fine. But make sure it's a toast, not a ROAST. If they broke up ten times before they finally got engaged, leave that detail out.

#4.) Your Own Failed Marriage.
There's no way to bring it up without embarrassing yourself. It just makes you seem kind of pathetic.

#5.) Backhanded Compliments. People do this all the time:
They're just joking, but they say something like, "Wow, I can't believe someone like JERRY landed someone like YOU."

Why did Kim Marry Kris?

KIM and KHLOE KARDASHIAN are in Australia pimping their new handbag line. And yesterday, they appeared on a TV morning show, where Kim revealed it was INTUITION that led her to end her marriage to KRIS HUMPHRIES.

.... Kim isn't allowed to follow her Intuition any more. I think her womans intuition should be revoked.

Coffee - Is REALLY good for you?

Coffee (Or At Least, The Caffeine!) Can Help You Proofread Better:

The caffeine in coffee could actually help you to spot grammar errors, according to a new study in the Journal of Experimental Psychology.

Researchers found that caffeine helped students to correct errors in subject-verb agreement and verb tense, MSNBC reported. However, the caffeine still didn't seem to make a difference at identifying misspelled words -- sorry.

Coffee Could Lower Women's Depression Risk:

Women who drink a few cups of caffeinated coffee have a lower risk of depression than women who don't drink any coffee, according to a Harvard study.

That research, published in the Archives of Internal Medicine, shows that women who drink two to three cups of coffee a day have a 15 percent lower risk, while women who drink four or more cups of coffee a day have a 20 percent lower risk.

Coffee Could Save Your Brain:

... Well, maybe. A study in the Journal of Alzheimer's Disease suggests that there's something in coffee -- though researchers have yet to determine what exactly that "something" is -- interacts with caffeine to boost the levels of granulocyte colony stimulating factor (GCSF), a growth factor that seems to be able to fight off Alzheimer's disease in mice.

Coffee Could Lower Men's Prostate Cancer Risk:

A Harvard School of Public Health study shows that men who drink six cups of coffee a day have a 60 percent decreased chance of developing a dangerous form of prostate cancer, as well as a 20 percent decreased chance of developing any other kinds of prostate cancer.

The study, published in the Journal of the National Cancer Institute, also shows that just drinking just some coffee a day -- just one to three cups -- could still cut prostate cancer risk by 30 percent.

Coffee Could Ward Off The World's Most Common Cancer:

New research presented at the American Association for Cancer Research conference shows that coffee could help to ward off basal cell carcinoma, the most common cancer in the world.

Researchers from Brigham and Women's Hospital and Harvard Medical School found that women who drink three or more cups of caffeinated coffee a day have a 20 percent lower risk of the skin cancer, while men had a 9 percent lower risk.

Coffee Could Protect You From Type 2 Diabetes:

Drinking coffee is associated with a lower Type 2 diabetes risk, with more coffee consumption linked to a greater decrease in risk, according to an Archives of Internal Medicine review of studies from 2009.

In that review, researchers looked at data from more than 450,000 people in 18 studies, and found that for every extra cup of coffee drank a day, a person's risk of Type 2 diabetes decreased by 7 percent.

Coffee Could Decrease Parkinson's Risk:

Drinking a few cups of coffee a day could lower the risk of developing Parkinson's disease by as much as 25 percent, according to a study published last year in the Journal of Alzheimer's Disease.

New iPhone Catches Cheating Wife?

In conjunction with the release of iOS 5, Apple last week released “Find My Friends”, a new app which enables iPhone users to track the location of friends who have agreed to share their location data with a trusted group of people.

When Apple introduced the feature at their iPhone 4S media event, some of the use-cases proffered included finding friends when meeting up at the beach and tracking the location of road-tripping friends coming to see you to make sure they haven’t veered off course.

But with location sharing comes a number of important privacy issues. To this end, Find My Friends only works when a user agrees to share his/her location information.

But what happens when an iPhone toting user isn’t aware that his/her location is being shared?

Such was the case with a New York man who got his wife an iPhone 4S and enabled location sharing. Upon tracking her, he found her outright lying about her whereabouts, confirming his earlier suspicions that she was cheating on him - thought that point is purely circumstantial.

He posted the following synopsis on a MacRumors forum thread.

'I got my wife a new 4s and loaded up find my friends without her knowing. She told me she was at her friends house in the east village. I’ve had suspicions about her meeting this guy who lives uptown. Lo and behold, Find my Friends has her right there.'

'I just texted her asking where she was and she said she was on 10th Street!! Thank you Apple, thank you App Store, thank you all. These beautiful treasure trove of screen shots going to play well when I meet her a$$ at the lawyer’s office in a few weeks.'

Stressed? Me too ... And everyone else.

Nearly three in four working adults in Canada described their work days as stressful or said they were “a bit” stressed in 2010, according to new numbers released by Statistics Canada.

About 27% of working adults (3.7 million people) said their lives are usually “quite a bit” or “extremely” stressful, while another 46% (6.3 million) were “a bit” stressed, according to the study.

The main reason? Work, according to the study. About 62% of the highly stressed workers pinpointed their jobs as the culprit.

“These individuals were generally well-educated — almost three-quarters had a college or university education — and were employed in white-collar occupations,” StatsCan notes. “They also reported household incomes of $100,000 or more. The majority were men and the largest group was aged 35 to 49.”

The stressed workers also cited financial concerns and a lack of time (12% each), along with family matters (8%) and personal or other issues (6%).

Cute? Very.

Computer Scam in HRM!

... They called me last Saturday, tried to access my computer with remote software, I told them how I felt about their call, and they had multiple follow up calls threatening to sue me for telling them it's a scam? Anyway ... Read this:

HRP/RCMP Integrated Financial Crime Unit regularly takes complaints from citizens who have received a call from someone claiming to represent a large software company. The caller tells the victim they have detected a problem on their computer.

The problem may be that the computer has a virus or is working slowly and offers to fix it. The victim is directed to get on their computer and follow a list of instructions that are supposed to correct the problem. Investigators believe that by following the instructions, the suspect gains remote access to the computer, including all personal information.

The Unit has recently received a number of these complaints where the callers have become increasingly hostile to the point of threatening or harassing. In several cases the victim receives several calls even though they had originally declined their assistance. Residents are advised that if they receive a threatening or harassing phone call, they can press *57 (land lines only) after they hang up to trace the last incoming call. The information can then be retrieved by police if needed.

If anyone has received a similar call and has followed the instructions, it is recommended that you have your computer serviced at a reputable shop. Citizens are also reminded not to give personal information to anyone, whether solicitation occurs by telephone or in person, unless you have initiated the contact or you are certain of the identification of the individual and the legitimacy of the organization they claim to represent.

Ashton Kutcher ... Cheating?

A woman is accusing Ashton Kutcher of cheating on wife Demi Moore, the same weekend as the couple celebrated their six year wedding anniversary, according to Radaronline.

The entertainment website claims the liaison happened last Friday in San Diego, California after a booze-fuelled night out.

The 23-year-old woman, who has not been identified, has reportedly hired a high powered Hollywood attorney and has gone into hiding.

Radaronline says it received the information from 'multiple friends of the woman.'

According to one unnamed source: 'She is due to meet with an attorney tonight (Tuesday). She is freaking out.'

The Two and a Half Men star's wedding anniversary was on Saturday, September 24, one day after the alleged encounter happened.

'Ashton didn't look like someone who was celebrating a wedding anniversary,' one club goer told RadarOnline.

The scandal also comes as Star magazine, a sister publication of RadarOnline, is working on an explosive new report claiming the marriage between Ashton, 33, and Demi, 48, is 'officially over.'

The issue will hit newsstands tomorrow (Wednesday).

According to Star: 'Ashton and Demi have separated and the marriage is over.'

MailOnline contacted Ashton's representatives, but so far they have not responded.

A source close to the pair reportedly told Star magazine: 'The relationship ended because of Ashton's serial cheating. It's a painful time for Demi.'

In September 2010, as Mailonline previously reported, Ashton was rocked by another cheating scandal after Star reported that he had had a fling with a 21-year-old woman named Brittney Jones.

The young woman told the magazine she had sex with the actor inside the Beverly Hills home he shares with his wife.

The magazine also claimed that Ashton was so worried that the alleged affair would be exposed that he made her delete their text messages, but Star reported that she didn't remove all of them.

Brittney told Star: 'He looked over the texts and said he wanted me to delete all the messages from him,' she revealed. 'He then told me he wanted me to delete the texts I had sent to him. He said they could hurt him.'

Despite the explosive report, Ashton and Demi brushed off the allegations with Ashton making sure to express just how he felt by taking his Twitter to make a statement.

He said, 'I think Star magazine calling me a 'cheater' qualifies as defamation of character. I hope my lawyer agrees.

'STAR magazine - you don't get to stand behind "freedom of the press" when you are writing fiction.'

Kutcher's representative also denied the story, while his wife of nearly five years came out in support of her husband.

'Excellent point my love!' and 'No question!' she wrote in response to Kutcher's comments.

Caffeine Prevents Depression?

Women who drink two or more cups of coffee a day are less likely to get depressed, research suggests.

It is not clear why it might have this effect, but the authors believe caffeine in coffee may alter the brain's chemistry. Decaffeinated coffee did not have the same effect.

The findings, published in Archives of Internal Medicine, come from a study of more than 50,000 US female nurses.

The experts are now recommending more work to better understand the link.

And they say it is certainly too soon to start recommending that women should drink more coffee to boost mood.

**Caffeine lift**

The Harvard Medical School team tracked the health of the women over a decade from 1996 to 2006 and relied on questionnaires to record their coffee consumption.

Karolinska Institute
Just over 2,600 of the women developed depression over this time period.

More of these women tended to be non- or low-coffee drinkers rather than frequent coffee consumers.

Compared with women who drank one cup of caffeinated coffee or less per week, those who consumed two to three cups per day had a 15% decreased risk of developing depression.

Those who drank four or more cups a day cut their risk by 20%.

Regular coffee drinkers were more likely to smoke and drink alcohol and were less likely to be involved in church, volunteer or community groups. They were also less likely to be overweight and have high blood pressure or diabetes.

Even after controlling for all of these variables, the trend of increasing coffee consumption and lower depression remained.

**Mounting evidence**

The researchers say their findings add weight to the work of others which found lower suicide rates among coffee drinkers.

They suspect caffeine is the key player - it is known to enhance feelings of well being and energy.

How much caffeine?
There is no recommended level a person should consume
But pregnant women are advised to consume less than 200mg a day
One mug of instant coffee: 100mg
One mug of filter coffee: 140mg
One mug of tea: 75mg
One can of cola: 40mg
One 50g bar of milk chocolate: about 25mg

And it has a physical effect on brain function and transmission by blocking certain chemical receptors, like adenosine. But more research is needed to show if this might mean it is useful for warding off depression.

Alternatively, it might be that people with low moods chose not to drink coffee because it contained caffeine, point out the researchers. One of the common symptoms of depression is disturbed sleep, and caffeine can exacerbate this because it is a stimulant.

Too much caffeine can also increase feelings of anxiety.

Prof Bertil Fredholm, an expert in pharmacology and physiology at Sweden's Karolinska Institute, said the findings were reassuring for coffee-lovers.

"This fits nicely with a lot of the previous work and what we know about caffeine and the brain. It blocks adenosine, which produces a similar effect to increasing dopamine production. And it's becoming increasingly clear that the dopamine-rich areas of the brain are much more important in depression that previously thought.

"Despite valiant efforts to show how dangerous coffee is for us, it is not proving so.

"This removes yet another anxiety regarding caffeine use. Drunk in moderation, the evidence is strong that it is not one of the things we do that is going to damage your health."

Nancy's Photo Spoof

Nancy Upton entered A VERY well known clothing company's “plus-size model” contest as a joke — and won. She wanted nothing to do with a company that’s wanted nothing to do with large women until now!!

Check out the photos that she entered that got her the gig!!

Ellen & Portia Launch New Comedy Series!

Portia de Rossi and Ellen DeGeneres have cooked up a comedy about sisters with a contentious relationship, and NBC has nabbed it. The network reportedly made a "put pilot commitment" for the show, in which De Rossi will play one of the sisters. And no, it does not sound as though DeGeneres, De Rossi's wife since 2008, will play her sibling.

Deadline.com reports there was a heated bidding war for the comedy before NBC landed it. It will be executive produced by DeGeneres and written by Don Todd, co-creator of "Samantha Who?"

This ... Well, This is Just a Bad Idea

So who are happier ... Men or Women?

The Battle of the Sexes is over . . . and men won. A survey by Captivate Network found that men are happier than women . . . everywhere.

--At the office, men are 25% happier than women. At home, they're 8% happier. And three out of four guys think they do a good job of maintaining a home-and-work balance.

--The profile of the average happy person is a 39-year-old married guy whose wife works part-time. Combined they make six figures, and they have one kid.

--The average unhappy person is a 42-year-old unmarried woman who only makes five figures.

--BUT . . . men are happier at home because the women do most of the work. Twice as many women take care of the laundry, grocery shopping, cooking, and cleaning.

--And at work, men are happier because they take more breaks. They're 25% more likely to take some "me time" during the day, 5% more likely to take a lunch, and 11% more likely to take a time out for some mid-day sex.

--Because they're so miserable everywhere they are, women are 9% more likely to say they suffer from stress, 11% more likely to have headaches, and 7% more likely to gain weight.

Hate Your Boss? This Explains it.

Researchers have revealed that one in 25 company bosses are psychopaths.

The pioneering study led by New York psychologist Dr Paul Babiak revealed that bosses disguise their psychopathy by using their status, charm and manipulation.

According to them, positive experiences such as happy childhoods are what really stop these bosses from turning into potential serial killers.

The callous corporate world helps these psychopaths by rewarding ruthlessness and disregard of people's feelings.

The worst part is that these bosses are in actuality rubbish at their jobs, but keep climbing the ladder by charming people to cover up their failings, they said.

"Psychopaths really aren't the kind of person you think they are," the Mirror quoted Babiak as saying.

"You could be married to one for 20 years and not know it," he stated.

Fellow researcher Professor Bob Hare said: "A psychopath can tell what you're thinking but what they don't do is feel what you feel. These are people without a conscience."

The findings of the research conducted will be revealed in detail in a BBC2 Horizon documentary, showing that bosses are four times more likely to be psychopaths than the general population, with scientists believing 1 per cent of the public are psychos.

Letter from Jack Layton

Dear Friends,

Tens of thousands of Canadians have written to me in recent weeks to wish me well. I want to thank each and every one of you for your thoughtful, inspiring and often beautiful notes, cards and gifts. Your spirit and love have lit up my home, my spirit, and my determination.

Unfortunately my treatment has not worked out as I hoped. So I am giving this letter to my partner Olivia to share with you in the circumstance in which I cannot continue.

I recommend that Hull-Aylmer MP Nycole Turmel continue her work as our interim leader until a permanent successor is elected.

I recommend the party hold a leadership vote as early as possible in the New Year, on approximately the same timelines as in 2003, so that our new leader has ample time to reconsolidate our team, renew our party and our program, and move forward towards the next election.

A few additional thoughts:

To other Canadians who are on journeys to defeat cancer and to live their lives, I say this: please don’t be discouraged that my own journey hasn’t gone as well as I had hoped. You must not lose your own hope. Treatments and therapies have never been better in the face of this disease. You have every reason to be optimistic, determined, and focused on the future. My only other advice is to cherish every moment with those you love at every stage of your journey, as I have done this summer.

To the members of my party: we’ve done remarkable things together in the past eight years. It has been a privilege to lead the New Democratic Party and I am most grateful for your confidence, your support, and the endless hours of volunteer commitment you have devoted to our cause. There will be those who will try to persuade you to give up our cause. But that cause is much bigger than any one leader. Answer them by recommitting with energy and determination to our work. Remember our proud history of social justice, universal health care, public pensions and making sure no one is left behind. Let’s continue to move forward. Let’s demonstrate in everything we do in the four years before us that we are ready to serve our beloved Canada as its next government.

To the members of our parliamentary caucus: I have been privileged to work with each and every one of you. Our caucus meetings were always the highlight of my week. It has been my role to ask a great deal from you. And now I am going to do so again. Canadians will be closely watching you in the months to come. Colleagues, I know you will make the tens of thousands of members of our party proud of you by demonstrating the same seamless teamwork and solidarity that has earned us the confidence of millions of Canadians in the recent election.

2

To my fellow Quebecers: On May 2nd, you made an historic decision. You decided that the way to replace Canada’s Conservative federal government with something better was by working together in partnership with progressive-minded Canadians across the country. You made the right decision then; it is still the right decision today; and it will be the right decision right through to the next election, when we will succeed, together. You have elected a superb team of New Democrats to Parliament. They are going to be doing remarkable things in the years to come to make this country better for us all.

To young Canadians: All my life I have worked to make things better. Hope and optimism have defined my political career, and I continue to be hopeful and optimistic about Canada. Young people have been a great source of inspiration for me. I have met and talked with so many of you about your dreams, your frustrations, and your ideas for change. More and more, you are engaging in politics because you want to change things for the better. Many of you have placed your trust in our party. As my time in political life draws to a close I want to share with you my belief in your power to change this country and this world. There are great challenges before you, from the overwhelming nature of climate change to the unfairness of an economy that excludes so many from our collective wealth, and the changes necessary to build a more inclusive and generous Canada. I believe in you. Your energy, your vision, your passion for justice are exactly what this country needs today. You need to be at the heart of our economy, our political life, and our plans for the present and the future.

And finally, to all Canadians: Canada is a great country, one of the hopes of the world. We can be a better one – a country of greater equality, justice, and opportunity. We can build a prosperous economy and a society that shares its benefits more fairly. We can look after our seniors. We can offer better futures for our children. We can do our part to save the world’s environment. We can restore our good name in the world. We can do all of these things because we finally have a party system at the national level where there are real choices; where your vote matters; where working for change can actually bring about change. In the months and years to come, New Democrats will put a compelling new alternative to you. My colleagues in our party are an impressive, committed team. Give them a careful hearing; consider the alternatives; and consider that we can be a better, fairer, more equal country by working together. Don’t let them tell you it can’t be done.

My friends, love is better than anger. Hope is better than fear. Optimism is better than despair. So let us be loving, hopeful and optimistic. And we’ll change the world.

All my very best,

Jack Layton
